Sabri Sayari

sayariSabri Sayari teaches in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Sabancı University. Prior to joining Sabancı, he was the Director of the Institute of Turkish Studies at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service in Washington, D.C. (1994-2005), a senior staff member at the National Academy of Sciences' National Research Council (1991-1993), and resident consultant at RAND (1984-91). From 1974 to 1984, he served on the faculty of the Bosporus University in Istanbul. Sabri Sayari has also served as a Visiting Professor of Political Science at Columbia University, Aarhus University (Denmark), University of California (Irvine), and George Washington University.

Prof. Sayari has published numerous works on Turkish political system and foreign policy. Recently he has co-edited three books: Turkey's New World: Changing Dynamics in Turkish Foreign Policy (2000); Politics, Parties and Elections in Turkey (2002); and Political Leaders and Democracy in Turkey (2002).
