IPC hosted the book launch for Tarihi, Siyasi, Dini ve Hukuki Açıdan Ekümenik Patrikhane (The Ecumenical Patriarchate, A Historiographic, Political, Legal and Religious Analysis), edited by Cengiz Aktar, Professor of Political Science at Bahçeşehir University. Aside from a wide array of propagandist accounts written on the Orthodox Patriarchate within Turkey, this account stands out in its objectivity and in its attempt to untangle the conceptual misunderstandings revolving around this issue. Fuat Keyman gave the opening speech, after which the attending guest Bartholomew I, Archbishop of Constantinople, New Rome and the Ecumenical Patriarch gave a short speech. In the following panel chaired by Cengiz Aktar, the contributing scholars and experts on the topic Elçin Macar, Paraskevas Konortas, Samim Akgönül, Kürşat Demirci, Emre Öktem and Cem Sofuğlu gave speeches about different aspects of the issue.
