Arzu Özbek works as the Communications Coordinator of SHURA Energy Transition Center. Prior to joining SHURA, Özbek worked at the corporate communications and marketing departments of leading Turkish companies in telecom and FMCG sectors and worked as senior director at global PR firms to provide strategic communication consultancy to various multinational companies from multiple industries.
Özbek started her career as a journalist and after working as an editor in NTV News Channel and Sabah Newspaper and other media outlets, decided to make a move from journalism to corporate communications. Özbek worked as media relations and corporate communications executive at the companies Avea and Ülker, and provided consultancy to global companies such as Intel, Cisco, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Visa, as a senior director at the global PR networks, Hill+ Knowlton Strategies and Grayling.
Özbek, who has expertise in multiple industries is specialized at strategic communication planning, content development, social media strategy and crisis management. Ozbek completed her undergraduate degree at Istanbul Bilgi University with a double-major in Media and Communication Systems and Business Administration. After graduation she received a master’s degree in journalism at the University of London, Goldsmiths College, as part of the UK Government’s international award program, Chevening Scholarships.
