Just Transition in the Energy Sector: Good Practices and Experience Sharing Workshop
Within the scope of "Supporting Just Transition in Turkey" project implemented by IPC with the support of the European Union and in cooperation with EUCD (European Union Climate Dialogues Program), "Just Transition in the Energy Sector: Good Practices and Experience Sharing Workshop" was organized at Post Office Hall on June 11-12. IPM Climate Cluster Coordinator Ümit Şahin, EUCD Turkey Country Officer Gamze Çelikyılmaz and European Union Delegation to Turkey, Energy, Environment and Climate Change Program Officer Christian Ballarò made opening speeches at the event and the session moderated by IPM Climate Studies team members.

Supporting Just Transition in Turkey Project: Çanakkale-Çan region-specific workshop
The Çanakkale-Çan region-specific workshop of the European Union (EU) funded EU Climate Dialogues Project (EUCD) “Supporting Just Transition in Turkey Project” was held on April 25th in Çan, Çanakkale.
In the workshop, public institutions, NGOs, professional associations and various other stakeholders highlighted democratic participation processes for investments that affect and are likely to affect the region, identification of the social costs of the coal and mining economy, access to public information, alternative employment opportunities and inter-institutional cooperation as priority areas of need for the general framework of “Just Transition”.

Mercator-IPC Alumni Retreat 2023
As the Istanbul Policy Center-Sabancı University-Stiftung Mercator Initiative, we are thrilled to host the Alumni Event of the Mercator-IPC Fellowship Program this year for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic. We believe that the synergies and the exchanges in these alumni events are crucial in keeping this dynamic network alive.
In three days, we had a fishbowl discussion session on the second century of Turkey in various aspects, an excursion in the region and a coffee talk session on the cultural heritage of Cappadocia with the participation of Aslı Özbay as our guest speaker.
We are looking forward to having new opportunities for more exchange and networking among our fellows.
Exploring Vulnerability(ies) and Resilience: Learning from Populations on the Move
The Initiative organized the workshop "Exploring Vulnerability(ies) and Resilience: Learning from Populations on the Move," also featuring a keynote speech titled "Neither Vulnerability, Nor Resilience: A Critical Approach to Exiles' Experiences" by Didier Fassin at IPC on May 5-6.

Sustainable Agriculture Matrix International Consortium Meeting
Under IPC, Sabancı University, Toros Tarım, and Tekfen Tarım cooperation and with the support of Belmont Forum Sustainable Agriculture Matrix project's International Consortium Meeting took place with the participation of Sabancı University Natural Sciences and Engineering Faculty Lecturer Prof. Dr. Levent Öztürk, IPC Climate Cluster Coordinator and Sabancı University Art and Social Sciences Faculty Lecturer Dr. Ümit Şahin, Natural Sciences and Engineering Faculty Postdoctoral Researcher Duygu Avcı and Dr. Xin Zhang from University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science at the IPC on October 20-21.

EU's Border Externalization: Implication for Migration from Afghanistan under the Taliban
The Istanbul Policy Center-Sabancı University-Stiftung Mercator Initiative and Aston University organized a roundtable discussion "EU’s Border Externalization: Implications for Migration from Afghanistan under the Taliban" with the initiative of 2020/21 Mercator-IPC Fellow Karolina Augustova on March 17.

Turkey Climate Economics Workshop - "Turkey's Green Transformation: Models and Pathways"
The Initiative convened a workshop titled "Turkey Climate Economics Workshop - Turkey's Green Transformation: Models and Pathways (Türkiye İklim İktisadı Çalıştayı - Türkiye’nin Yeşil Dönüşümü: Modeller ve Patikalar)" on October 25. This workshop was initiated by 2020/21 Mercator IPC Fellow Ahmet Atıl Aşıcı.
