She completed her undergraduate degree at Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History, and Geography, Department of Sociology. She then worked as the editor of AŞİNA Books. Followed by Anka News Agency, she worked for Sputnik's Ankara Representative Office of Turkey as a reporter and editor. At the Social Democracy Association, she was involved in the field of Project and Communications Coordination. Ocak also gave editorial support to local publications affiliated with non-governmental organizations. Since October 2022, she is the editor of the Checks and Balances Network.
