Peter Mock
2015/16 Mercator-IPC Fellow

Peter Mock focuses on the impact of road transport on climate change and air pollution. As part of his research, he is interested in technologies to reduce the emissions from cars and trucks, as well as policy measures for advancing the market deployment of clean vehicles.

He studied Chemistry and Economics at the University of Ulm and holds a PhD in engineering from the University of Stuttgart. He started his career in the automotive industry, as a staff member of the Global Environmental Protection department at Daimler in Stuttgart. Moving on to the research sector, he completed his dissertation—assessing the market potential of different vehicle technologies and fuels up to 2030—at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). In 2010 he joined the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) in Washington, DC, and in 2012 became Managing Director of ICCT Europe in Berlin.

As part of his Mercator-IPC fellowship, Peter Mock will work on identifying best practice examples for policy measures that can help driving the uptake of clean vehicles in Turkey and other key automotive markets worldwide.
