Climate Change Policy Building in Turkey

Initiated by Climate Change Studies Coordinator Ümit Şahin, the project was carried out in four phases between June 2016 and February 2024 with support from Stiftung Mercator. It aimed to coordinate the Istanbul Policy Center’s policy-relevant work on climate governance, climate-related energy policies, and international negotiations.

One of the project’s initial steps was to facilitate dialogue among different climate policy actors in Turkey. Its work on international negotiations also included EU and German perspectives, and IPC was officially represented at the UN Climate Change Conferences (COP) in 2018 and 2019.
