2021/22 Mercator-IPC Research Scholarship Program Welcome Event
The 2021/22 Mercator-IPC Researchers' Welcome took place on October 11, 2021, at the Barbare Vineyard House. The event began with opening speeches by İPM Director Fuat Keyman and Stiftung Mercator Director Michael Schwarz. The event continued with a film screening introducing the 2021/22 Mercator-İPM Researchers Anna Zadrożna, Arzu Karakulak, Ezgi Ediboğlu, Onur Sazak, Sibel Karadağ and Theocharis Grigoriadis.
Fuat Keyman
Fuat Keyman is the Director of the Istanbul Policy Center; Vice President for Institutional Affairs and Social Impact, and Professor of International Relations at Sabancı University. Keyman is a leading political scientist in Turkey and an expert on globalization, democratization, international relations, Turkey – EU relations, Turkish foreign policy, and civil society development.
Anna Zadrożna
Anna Zadrożna is a socio-cultural anthropologist who received her PhD from the University of Oslo in 2021. A graduate of the University of Warsaw and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, she has a background in ethnology (BA) and environmental protection (BA and MSc degree).
Arzu Karakulak
Arzu Karakulak is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Bahcesehir University. In 2015, she obtained a joint PhD from Tilburg University (the Netherlands) and Koc University (Turkey) in the domain of Social, Industrial-Organizational and Cross-Cultural Psychology.
Ezgi Ediboğlu
After completing her LLB at Istanbul University, Ezgi Ediboğlu worked as a lawyer specializing in environmental law and attended the LLM program on Public Law at Marmara University.
Onur Sazak
Onur Sazak is Turkey-based Project Coordinator at the International Press Institute (IPI). Prior to joining IPI, Sazak coordinated the Philanthropy Infrastructure Development in Turkey project at The Third Sector Foundation of Turkey (TUSEV) from September 2019 to May 2021. He has also worked at Open Society Foundations Turkey, Istanbul Policy Center at Sabancı University, Hudson Institute, and Brookings Institution in different capacities ranging from research manager to program associate for over a decade and a half.
Sibel Karadağ
Sibel Karadağ, göç ve sınır çalışmaları konusunda uzmanlaşmış bir siyaset bilimcidir. Aktif olarak Kadir Has Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi Bölümü'nde görev yapmaktadır.
Theocharis Grigoriadis
Theocharis Grigoriadis is an Associate Professor of Economics and East European Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, a Candidate of Science in Economics from Saint Petersburg State University, an MA in Russian and East European Studies from Yale University, as well as an LLM and an LLB from the University of Athens.
