Beyond Negotiations: Turkey's Future in Europe
The Istanbul Policy Center-Sabanci University-Stiftung Mercator Initiative, Middle East Strategic Studies Center, European Union, and Global Research Association jointly organized an expert roundtable titled “Beyond Chapters: The Future of Turkey in Europe” on November 18, 2014, at TOBB University of Economics and Technology. – The Future of Turkey in Europe" was held on November 18, 2014, at TOBB University of Economics and Technology. The event was chaired by ORSAM President Şaban Kardaş within the framework of Hannes Swoboda's Mercator-IPM Senior Research Fellowship, with the participation of European Union Ministry Undersecretary Burak Erdenir, European Stability Initiative President Gerald Knaus, and Ifo Center for International Economics Deputy Director Erdal Yalçın as speakers, and IPM Director Fuat Keyman as discussant.
Hannes Swoboda
Hannes Swoboda is a former member of the European Parliament. As a Mercator-IPC Senior Fellow, he co-organized a project with IPC examining and facilitating potential areas of cooperation between EU and Turkey beyond the accession negotiations.
Fuat Keyman
Fuat Keyman is the Director of the Istanbul Policy Center; Vice President for Institutional Affairs and Social Impact, and Professor of International Relations at Sabancı University. Keyman is a leading political scientist in Turkey and an expert on globalization, democratization, international relations, Turkey – EU relations, Turkish foreign policy, and civil society development.
