The IPM held a workshop titled "Faraway, So Close? Reaching Beyond the Pro/Contra Controversy on Turkey's EU Accession" between June 2 and 4. The two-day workshop, jointly organized by IPM and Freie Universitat, Berlin, featured the launch of Thomas Risse's new book, A Community of Europeans: Transnational Identities and the Public Sphere. Topics discussed included comparative approaches to historical institutionalism and Europeanization, the disappearance of norms and normativity, migration, and the EU's impact on migration waves.
