Kemal Derviş Memorial Event

"Dr. Kemal Derviş, former Senior Advisor at Istanbul Policy Center, Executive Board Member of IPC-Sabancı University-Stiftung Mercator Initiative and Member of Sabancı University International Advisory Board, was commemorated with an event organized by Sabancı University and Istanbul Policy Center on the first anniversary of his passing.

Kemal Derviş, Turkish economist, politician, academic and Minister of State in charge of Economy in the 57th Government of the Republic of Turkey, was commemorated with a special event organized by Sabancı University and Istanbul Policy Center on the first anniversary of his passing. The event was held at Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum and 11th President Abdullah Gül attended as the guest of honor. The event started with the opening speeches of Sabancı University Founding Chairman of the Board of Trustees Güler Sabancı and President of Sabancı University Prof. Dr. Yusuf Leblebici. Following the speeches, a panel discussion was moderated by Prof. Dr. Fuat Keyman, Vice Rector for Institutionalization and Social Contribution Processes at Sabancı University and Director of Istanbul Policy Center.

Prof. Dr. Asaf Savaş Akat, Professor at Bilgi University and economist, spoke on ""Economy, Globalization and Social Democracy""; Prof. Dr. Celal Göle, Professor at Atılım University Faculty of Law, close friend and tennis partner of Kemal Derviş, spoke on ""Kemal Derviş and Friendship""; and Prof. Dr. Fuat Keyman spoke on ""Turkey and the European Union Relations and Global Governance""."
