“The Transformation of Türkiye’s Electricity Distribution Sector” Report Launch
The online launch of the report The Transformation of Türkiye’s Electricity Distribution Sector was held on November 6, 2025, to share findings and facilitate a discussion among experts on the future of electricity distribution policies. The opening remarks were delivered by SHURA Director Alkım Bağ, followed by a presentation of the report’s key findings by Dr. Sena Serhadlıoğlu, Senior Energy Analyst at SHURA. The panel session “The Future of the Electricity Distribution Sector,” moderated by SHURA Research Coordinator Hasan Aksoy, featured Dr. Oğuzcan Samsun (Director of Strategy, Business Development and M&A, Enerjisa), Mert Bayer (System Operations Manager, MEDAŞ), and Mevlüt Akdeniz (Power Systems Engineer, MRC Turkey).

Alkım Bağ Güllü, has graduated from ODTU, with a bachelors degree in International Relations following a Masters Programme in the University of Keele on the subject of International Relations and Energy Policies.

Sena Serhadlıoğlu
Sena Serhadlıoğlu is working as a Senior Energy Analyst at SHURA Energy Transition Center. Prior to joining SHURA, Sena worked as an Engineering Manager at the Engineering and Technical Advisory Team of the Industrial Development Bank of Turkey (TSKB).

Hasan Aksoy
Hasan Aksoy began his professional life in the energy sector in 2005. Between 2005 and 2011, he served as Assistant Manager in charge of energy trading, analysis, portfolio and generation management at Akenerji Group.
