Just Transition: Regulatory Frameworks with EU Implementation and Financing Examples
IPC, in cooperation with Boğaziçi University and SEFiA, organized the conference titled "Just Transition: Regulatory Frameworks with EU Implementation and Financing Examples," which was held on January 13 at IPC Karaköy. The conference was held within the framework of the TÜBİTAK-supported project (Grant No. 123K509) led by Prof. Dr. Sevil Acar from Boğaziçi University.
Institutional Innovation in Cities
Representing IPC, Ivan Lopez Cruz, a faculty member at Sabanci University's Economics Department, participated in the Symposium on Institutional Innovation in Cities, held on January 8–9, 2026, at Harvard University’s Bloomberg Center for Cities. The event brought together researchers and policy practitioners to discuss institutional coordination in addressing complex urban challenges such as crime, climate risks, and social services. Lopez Cruz shared insights on the political economy of urban security, emphasizing the importance of state capacity and policy timing in effective cross-agency coordination.
Defense and Technology Cooperation amid Geopolitical Turmoil: Challenges and Opportunities for Turkey and Europe
The Initiative hosted the panel discussion “Defense and Technology Cooperation amid Geopolitical Turmoil: Challenges and Opportunities for Turkey and Europe” on December 19, 2025, at the IPC Karaköy. The event was convened by 2024/25 Mercator-IPC Fellow Samuele Abrami and 2025/26 Mercator-IPC Fellow Jacopo Franceschini.
