In line with Turkey's 2030 vision, SHURA's report aims to better understand the socio-economic impacts of the transition to low-carbon energy, evaluating both the advantages of a secure energy system and the areas that need to be managed. The study seeks answers to key questions facing the Turkish economy: How will the replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energy change value added? How will this change affect manufacturing, wages, and income distribution? In which areas will new job opportunities emerge, and in which areas will job losses occur? How will wages and income distribution be affected? What is the economic benefit of improvements in human health and environmental quality? The policy recommendations of the study focus on how Turkey can benefit from these developments and offer suggestions that will open up significant opportunities for the transformation of the energy system.
