Strengthening the Electrical System Against Natural Hazards

Following the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş, which caused significant loss of life and property in 11 provinces across Turkey, the importance of how the electricity system is structured has once again become apparent. This report investigates the effects of natural disasters on the electricity system, how the electricity system can be strengthened, what can be done in terms of pre- and post-disaster preparedness, and examines concrete steps that should be taken to strengthen Turkey's electricity system against disasters.
